UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT:

Councillor L A Bentley be appointed Chair.

Members are reminded that any declaration of interest should be made having regard to the Members’ Code of Conduct. In particular, Members must make clear the nature of the interest and whether it is 'pecuniary' or ‘non-pecuniary'.

The press and public are likely to be excluded from the remainder of the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (Exempt Information) during consideration of the item(s) below on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in the respective paragraph(s) 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and, in all the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exempt item(s) outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

By affirmation of the hearing, it was

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT:

Consideration of a report of the Deputy Monitoring Officer relating to an allegation of a breach of the Code of Conduct by Councillor Ravendra H Thakor.

The Committee received the report as set out on pages 1-31 of the exempt agenda, which asked it to consider an alleged breach of the Code of Conduct by Councillor Ravendra H Thakor.

Having considered the report, the advice of the Independent Person and the advice of the Monitoring Officer, it was

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT

A.   The matter be referred to a Determination Sub-Committee for adjudication; and

B.   The Determination Sub-Committee is to be cancelled if Councillor Thakor issues a satisfactory apology, approved by the Monitoring Officer, before the date on which the Sub-Committee is due to be meet.
