Apologies for Absence

To receive apologies for absence from Members to determine the quorum of the meeting in accordance with Rule 7 of Part 4 of the Constitution.

Appointment of Substitutes

To appoint substitute Members in accordance with Rule 26 of Part 4 of the Constitution and the Substitution Procedure Rules.

To read, confirm and note the Action List arising from the previous meeting.

Minutes:

Members requested that as part of the Review of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Licensing Policy, an additional question be added to the public consultation section of the review regarding an alternative option of a ‘London Taxi’ type Hackney Carriage, to ensure that a true representation of demand can be concluded from the review.

 

The Head of Law & Democracy provided a verbal update in relation to the new procedures for issuing of pavement licenses. Members were informed that under new Government legislation, the Council would now be processing pavement licenses, as opposed to this responsibility falling under Leicestershire County Council.

The Committee gave consideration to the report and appendix (as set out on pages 13-17 of the public agenda reports pack) which asked it to note new Statutory Guidance published on 21 July 2020 in relation to taxi and private hire vehicle standards.
